Herbalogy

Many people prefer using herbs, a combination of medicinal herbs and western medicine, to cure or alleviate their symptoms. These remedies have no guarantee.

Herbology is the art of combining medicinal herbs. A medicinal herb may be a shrub or other woody plant, whereas a culinary herb is a non-woody plant.

AROMATHERAPY

Aromatherapy, commonly associated with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), is the use of volatile liquid plant materials, known as essential oils (EOs), and other aromatic compounds from plants to affect someone's mood or health. The word was coined in the 1920s by French chemist René Maurice Gattefosse, who devoted his life to researching the healing properties of essential oils after a lucky accident in his perfume laboratory. (In the accident, he lit his arm on fire and thrust it into the nearest cold liquid, which happened to be a vat of lavender oil.

ME and MY BOSS

Check out this nice poem defining the relationship of a boss and his subordinate.

When I Take a long time to finish,
I am slow,
When my boss takes a long time,
he is thorough

When I don't do it,
I am lazy,
When my boss does not do it,
he is busy,

When I do something without being told, I am trying to be smart,
When my boss does the same, he takes the initiative,

When I please my boss,
I am apple polishing,
When my boss pleases his boss,
he is cooperating,

When I make a mistake,
you're an idiot.
When my boss makes a mistake,
he's only human.

Your importance

Check out this one.its hilarious

In a poor zoo of India , a lion was frustrated as he was offered not more than 1 kg meat a day.

One day the lion thought it's prayers were answered when a US Zoo Manager visited the zoo and requested the zoo management to shift the lion to a US zoo.

The lion was pleased and started thinking of a central A/C environment, a goat or two every day and a US Green Card.

On it's first day after arrival, the lion was offered a big bag, sealed very nicely, for breakfast. It opened the bag quickly but was shocked to see that it contained only a few bananas.

Checklist for an Interview

Here are some tips on what to do when appearing for an Interview. Hope they help.

First Impressions are essential. Are you dressed appropriately? Is your hair style attractive? Are your fingernails clean and trimmed? If you wear makeup, is it subdued enough for a work setting?
You want to eliminate anything and everything that might keep you from being considered for employment. Eliminate as many of the possible problem areas as you can so that the employer focuses on what you bring to the table in terms of qualifications.

Teaching Alphabets to Preschoolers

Get a set of foam letters. (You can get these for as little as one dollar, if you purchase them from the dollar store.)
At bath time, toss two or three letters in the tub with your child.
While your child is playing in the tub, play with him or her, calling each of the letters by name. For example, say: The B is tickling your toes...Oh, the B is swimming around you...Give Mommy the B.
Repeat this each night until your child is able to distinguish between the letters and is able to call each one by name.

How to write a resume

Make notes of all your previous job responsibilities. Note what is already on your current resume and what you might want to add to past jobs. If this is your first resume, this is a great time to start putting the proper amount of detail into your resume. That way, you don't have to revisit those portions year after year.
Tailor your resume to the position you're applying for (this may require a bit of research). You may end up with many different versions of your resume, each one emphasizing a different set of skills.

Memory Improvement Techniques

The Link Method is one of the easiest mnemonic techniques available. You use it by making simple associations between items in a list, linking them with a vivid image containing the items. Taking the first image, create a connection between it and the next item (perhaps in your mind smashing them together, putting one on top of the other, or suchlike.) Then move on through the list linking each item with the next.

What to do if you feel like QUITTING

1. Take a break. Take a weekend or a week off from your project to think about what you're doing. Often just some absence from the work, especially if you've been chipping away at it every day for a long time, is enlightening. You can gain just enough perspective to evaluate what's truly going on. You might even want to take time to ask yourself the questions at the end of this chapter. (See "Ten Hard Questions To Ask Yourself When You Feel Like Quitting.") Then, instead of acting rashly, you can act rationally.

More than a third, 34 per cent, of the 200 workers questioned by the researchers as part of their study admitted to checking their inbox every 15 minutes.

Be an Active Listner

Something I wanted to share with all of you. We all lack this skill very much as most of us are too impatient to give others a hearing. Hope you like it. Source: www.mindtools.com

"It is obvious to say that if you have poor interpersonal communications skills (which include active listening), your productivity will suffer simply because you do not have the tools needed to influence, persuade and negotiate – all necessary for workplace success. Lines of communications must be open between people who rely on one another to get work done.

Writing skills - An interesting article

Many people are intimidated by writing. Even so, there are times when writing is the best way to communicate, and often the only way to get your message across.

Write With Necessary Caution:When writing, remember that once something is in written form, it cannot be taken back. Communicating this way is concrete than verbal communications, with less room for error and even less room for mistakes. This presents written communicators with additional challenges, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, even writing style and actual wording.
