To man's true nature...
Submitted by sheenasingha on 19 June, 2008 - 15:40.I just got back from submitting the form for my voter’s id.
Standing in the queue, a gentleman’s voice caught my attention.
“Oh! I am so glad I brought it along.”
“Oh! I am so glad I could be of use to someone.”
“Yes, yes. I have it.”
The crowd was gradually drifting to him.

Aarghh! I have spilled coke on my new dress!...Its a scorcher anyway; I might as well enjoy the coolness.”

Mistaking Arrogance for Confidence
Submitted by sheenasingha on 14 June, 2008 - 16:17.Arrogance is to judge one’s self-worth by comparison with others.
To think that one is superior to those inferior to oneself and that one is equal to one’s equals is also arrogance.
To judge our self-worth by comparing ourselves with others is arrogance too.
We may be inclined to mistake our arrogance for confidence and others’ confidence for arrogance.

HAPPY PARENTING!
Submitted by sheenasingha on 13 June, 2008 - 14:46.We do everything for our children : good schools, great guidance system, encourage, courses, chances to explore life, love.
Choosing a good school plays the greatest role.
But after we’ve exerted our lives towards their welfare, we still miss out on one very important thing.
School is a second home they say. Ever thought about the role of the first?

The beauty of marriage
Submitted by sheenasingha on 9 June, 2008 - 15:25.On marriage:
There are so many people on this earth. Does any one life really matter? But in a marriage, you are saying,
“I am the sole observer of your life.
Your every joy, your every moment of sadness, I’ll observe.
I will watch your little successes.
I’ll watch the bigger ones.
I’ll watch how you become a kid all over again with the children.

It's all here...
Submitted by sheenasingha on 8 June, 2008 - 12:36.Looking at the satellite image of earth I always think “So beautiful. We live here? It looks like this?”
But as soon as I move out, ugliness of the planet starts creeping in. The air is full of smoke and negative vibes. Trees are being cut. Pollution in all forms… the list is endless.

Touch
Submitted by sheenasingha on 7 June, 2008 - 12:28.Touch as if the centre of your being has shifted to the point of contact. Oh! I just experienced this.
I had been off to my other’s place for 2 days. My 3 year old niece is the apple of our eye. I had heard that children till the age of 4 are the purest and the most alive of beings. To see it in real, she set an example.

Slim and fair...? Yes, yes...
Submitted by sheenasingha on 2 June, 2008 - 13:25.The Indian fetish for white. Oh my God! I am really tired now. All around, the judgement parameters are just 2 – fair (kitnni gori hai!) and slim (kitni patli hai)…and solely these 2!
Apart from that all your skills, intelligence is of little importance.
Everyone swooning over the size-zero’s.

Life, alive, living, throbbing...
Submitted by sheenasingha on 31 May, 2008 - 12:58.A poem takes birth inside the poet. It grows there.
An architect conceives the idea of a building. It grows inside him.
A sculptor takes inspiration for his models. It grows and develops inside him.
A painting takes birth in the heart of an artist. It develops inside him.
The poem is dead as soon as it comes on the paper.
It signifies life, beauty. But is dead.

Male PMS
Submitted by sheenasingha on 31 May, 2008 - 12:38.PMS and men? What is the connection? No. Is there a connection at all?
A few days back, I wrote a bog on fusion in polarity. I described the fusion of both the sexes into every being. If you are a male, your female self is hidden in your dark recesses and vice versa.

An escape into fantasyland
Submitted by sheenasingha on 30 May, 2008 - 12:55.Addiction
What makes a person smoke on the endless chain of cigarettes?
What makes someone drown himself in liquor?
What makes someone sniff on a line of cocaine?
Fun.
Ok!
Then, why the addiction?
I guess they have an intoxicating effect on the brain and with regular intake, you get addicted.
You’re a sensible human being. Nothing can overtake you ever if you do not allow it.

The mariculous stream of water may soon disappear!
Submitted by sheenasingha on 28 May, 2008 - 16:05.One drip per second washes 1200 litres of water in a year. That’s around 4 litres in a day ; and 90 litres of water if the drips are breaking into a stream.
Running a tap can use 10-14 litres of water in a minute – enough for a small bath in just 5 minutes. 25 percent of the world is without safe drinking water.

Why this one?
Well, because it has all the toppings I like: olives, jalapeno, baby corns, onion, mushrooms, red pepper, capsicum and dollops of cheese.
The pizza arrived.
2 minutes and the pizza was gone.
“Delicious!” he exclaimed.
You loved it?
“Yes! Absolutely!”
What did it taste like?

The Fusion in Polarity
Submitted by sheenasingha on 25 May, 2008 - 13:02.The archetypal image of Yang-yin has always been very fascinating. Technically speaking, it is a Chinese symbol representing the union of the opposite forces of the yang (masculine principle) and the yin (female principle). The light part represents the male and the dark one, the female.
The small black dot in yang symolises the birth of yin and yang and vice-versa.
