WHAT IS THE TRUE DEFINITION OF LIFE ?
What is the true definition of life?
For ages man has been trying to understand the mysteries of the universe and the different life forms visible and known to him. So many definitions of life are known to us that we find ourselves in a dilemma as to the credibility of any one.
The ancient wisdom, that God created the earth and the man, that our good or bad deeds will decide our afterlife, and the heaven and hell are waiting for us, that the same deeds will open the gates of the former or the latter, respectively, that God (curse-giving,irrascible and revengeful) will give the judgment on the final day, that soul is immortal, thatGod is watching us, that we will be reincarnated, that this present life is only an illusion, that religion demands our utmost devotion and respect, that reciting the names of the gods and prophets will enhance our chances of getting a better afterlife, that whatever worldly deeds we perform are meaningless if we don't include God in our plans, etc. seems to be made to please, appease and frighten the ignorant masses who never even doubt whether the unseen forces are worthy of worship or not. How eloquently we declare that the words in our scriptures are divine and we must not even think of challenging their authority, otherwise we will be the victims of the God's wrath. Few know that, leave aside man and his significance, our beautiful, big earth is so unbelievably small that to name it a mote dancing in the beam of light will be like conferring Majestic Honor to it.
Any form of life is merely a continuation of a process which, without the required elements, will definitely cease to proceed. The vanity of the earthly greatness can be very poetic and debatable but, in reality, life is an uncertain and unpredictable preparation for death. So, next time when you receive "happy birthday" greetings, pause and think that the irony of life is that behind the greeting there is a message that you have one more year less to live from the expected years granted to you by your statistical data, or your venerable astrologer. Bless you all.

for me life is a journey, thats why we need a corresponding person that will walk along with us in our way to go through... because no man is an Island....
Well said
Dear Shobhan,
It was very well said, but sometimes an island proves to be a whole world in itself. There is a beautiful story about Buddha:
A disciple visited Buddha for many days and he wanted to ask about God.Lord Buddha kept quiet.Six months passed and nothing came out of Buddha's mind. When next time the disciple came,he did not go back and stayed there with Buddha.Buddha asked if he had got the answer. The disciple nodded.
When you know that the existence is infinite,it is useless to try to give it shapes. That was the enlightenment. When you have got the extreme, then there is nothing left to talk about.
I had written a line:
"When I see you mamooth moumental constructed achievements from the vantage point where I float with William Wordsworth's ringing lines, all your achievements look pigmies to me"-Rajasir.
