Seven ways to spot if you have trouble making conversation

Conversation is self-expression. It is a skill which comes easily to almost everybody. Conversation is a two-way thing. An interesting conversationalist is welcome almost anywhere.

For some people, entering into a conversation is a source of anxiety. If you find yourself shying away from conversation, or if you find that making conversation with peolpe is something which doesn't come easily to you, you have to identify where it is that you are struggling when it comes to making conversation.

Think back to all your past experiences where you have been in a conversational situation. Try to remember what happened or where you could have done better. Once you have done that, ask yourself these seven questions to determine whether you have conversation trouble, and where your problem in making conversation lies:

1.)Do you find it difficult to think of a topic to speak about? Where you unable to speak about the topic of the conversation?

2.)Did you have trouble starting the conversation?

3.)Where you unable to arouse others to start a conversation with you?

4.)Did you fail to keep the convrsation going?

5.) When talking on one topic, where you able to move smoothly to another topic and keep the conversation going or did you let it die down?

6.) Were you able to adjust to the group of people you were with?

7.) Where you open-minded to the opinions of others or did you only look at your own viewpoints and opinions?

After asking yourself these quetions, you would have found out where your problem in entering into conversations lies. Once you have identified the areas you need to focus on, use the techniques and principles in another of my articles which deals with how to solve conversational problems.
