The Indian fetish for white. Oh my God! I am really tired now. All around, the judgement parameters are just 2 – fair (kitnni gori hai!) and slim (kitni patli hai)…and solely these 2!
Apart from that all your skills, intelligence is of little importance.
Everyone swooning over the size-zero’s.
Another bunch caught dreadfully in admiring the fairness of our Bollywood beauties. (Did anyone ever notice that they are acting so well too????)
Fairness cream ads flooding every television channel.
Oh! A soap opera was made on the same theme! (Is that a THEME???)
We recently watched a movie which casted a new actress. On our way back home, we were discussing her when I said, ‘She was good. Not very good, but does well.’
And what do I get as a reply? It’s this : ‘No. She was so thin.’
It’s good to appreciate beauty but…is that a main parameter?

Your beauty or physical
Your beauty or physical attributes is a handout; you got it without having to work for it. May be luck, genes, or whatever. When somebody maintains a good body, it does say something positive about that person - determination, confidence, working with a goal, and so on, where as a fat person could be thought of as lethargic.

Slim and fair women do get attraction and respect. But I do believe a black and fat woman can also win if she has the intelligence,determination and hard work. This is my opinion,sheena.

vijayanths, thanks for your comment...its true that these features enhance ur aura and attract everyone but personally, i always try to find at least one good thing in everone i meet to imbibe in myself and respect them for that quality, irrespective of their looks...so the fetish people have for it while totally undermining the less beautiful is bewildering...
