Faster Communication
When I taught English language, some of my students used to ask me about the most popular abbreviations. They got e-mails from their friends from USA with abbreviations they did not understand. So here are some:
2NITE – tonight
STH – something
MO – moment
LUV – love
:-) - happy
:_( - I am sad
;-) – I am happy
@ - at
MSG – message
ATB – all the best
WKND – weekend
BCNU – I will be seeing you
XOXOX – hugs and kisses
XLNT – excellent
OIC – oh, I see
RUOK – are you OK
:-O - I am surprised
PCM – please call me
F2T – free to talk
THNQ – thank you
SUM1 – someone
CU@8 – see you at eight
BTW – by the way
ROFL – roll on the floor laughing
LOL – laugh out loud
L8R – later
ASAP – as soon as possible
As you can see, new faster communication via internet or mobile phone forces us to create and learn new things. Now you can chat AFAP.
Happy blogging dear friends!
