Time for Eco Drive
There has been tremendous hue and cry over increase in price of oil. But one fails to understand why this much concern when the global prices have risen tremendously.
Just why don’t we think to go in for alternative modes of transport. More over there is much pressure already on the fossil fuels for energy production and transportation. Nuclear energy seems to be the only alternative in sight.
Government is giving loads of subsidies on oil and its products and thereby taking economic expense on its own budget.
In the recent past small countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan and Srilanka have already cut subsidies on oil, whereas India is lagging far behind in this endeavor.
With each passing day vehicles plying on the roads are increasing like ‘paramecium’ in water. The increasing number not only makes environment polluter but also makes roads more congested.
In order to tide over the crisis of oil, governments need to implement go green projects with eco-friendly vehicles being allowed on the road. Fuel can be CNG OR LPG doesn’t matter. But it is the alternative sources of energy which need to be tapped.
Nuclear energy is one of the potential sources which can be used to produce not only energy but also go a long way in the advancement in nuclear technology which will help health as well as defence sector.
The hard fact is that oil is still on fire and its prices are destined to increase further. Then why not promote ways to downsizing vehicles load on road through car pooling and cycling to our destinations in an eco friendly way.
