The Trip To The Moon
According to my research and readings of some articles in the books. It was the trip to the moon were the preparations for the moon landing was called the Apollo program.
It was the launched of the spacecraft that mounted on huge Saturn V rockets.Three astronauts were killed (Virgil Grissom,White and Chaffee)acaused of fire by an electrical fault.
It was the progarmbegan with a desaster while carrying out the routine test in the Apollo 1.Three months later another astronauts were killed (Vladimir M. KOmarov 1927-1967).
A problem sent his spacecraft hurtling down into the earth atmosphere faster than intended. His spacecraft burned up in the intense heat.
In December 1968 the apollo 8 made 10 orbits of the returned to earth safely. In 1969 the Apollo 10 wasin the dress rehearsal to the final assault. All went well and to months later the apollo 11 were launched.
It was the three crew who commanded by Neil Armstrong. He was accompanied on the moon landing by Eugene, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin Jr.(1930).While the third man Michael Collins was to remain orbiting the moon on the command module.
July 16,1969 at missionof control in Houston,Texas hundreds of people watched the rocket progress. The U.S. spacecraft Magellan was launched in 1989 to probe and map most of the surface of the planet Venus.

Named in honor of Neil Armstrong, first man to set foot on the moon, this museum in Wapakoneta chronicles Ohio's contributions to the history of space flight. Among the items on display are a F5D Sky Lancer, the Gemini VIII spacecraft, Apollo 11 artifacts and a moon rock. In the museum's Astro-theater, multimedia presentations of the sights and sounds of space unfold against a starry background.
