Are the Chinese cheap products always worthless?

I regularly buy Chinese lighters, each with a torch behind at just Rs.10. You know after every 15 / 20 days, I dispose them. Sometimes, if the torch is in working condition, I give it to my servant for use. There is no question of refilling gas in it. Even the cell of the torch costs Rs.6.

Just count, in a day if I smoke 20 cigarettes, then in 20 days I use the lighter at least 400 times (assuming one stroke/flash for each cigarette.)One match box, (waxed)containing 50 sticks, costs Re. 1.

Thus in 20 days, I otherwise need to spend -- 400 /50 = 8 match boxes (assuming each box really contains 50 sticks, and each stick helps in lighting one cigarette -- which is never the case).

Then, just for Rs. 2 (Rs.10 - Rs.8), I am getting a value addition. The match box may get wet because of rain/sweat etc. Moreover, it is safe and stylish. And the use of the torch light is just like a gift.

So, where am I losing?

But for every product, it is not the same. So, each buyer has to be conscious about what is he getting. I mean everyone has to be careful about the return on investment (ROI).

It's a matter of conscious decision whether and which Chinese products are good for an individual.
