Period pains- how I deal with them
Periods also known as mestruation are usually accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen, headaches, vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea. This is very common. I have discovered some ways of reducing the pains. Most women use over-the-counter medications which work. Having a diet rich in omega 3 fatty acids, magnesium, vitamin E, zinc and vitamin B1 really helps. Reduce or eliminate caffinated foods. Exercise a lot. When you get pains in your lower abdomen try to do this, it works for me. Boil water in a kettle. Pour the water into what is called a hot water bottle. Do not fill it completly just halfway is enough and make sure you close the lid tightly. If you do not have a hot water bottle use any plastic container with a tight fitting lid. Sit in a comfortable position. Carefully place the bottle on the painful area. Leave it there for about 30-60 minutes and the pain will reduce or completely go. Try it, it works for me. Let me know if it works for you. God bless you and thank you for reading.
