YOGA FOR THE EYES 1

YOGA FOR THE EYES 1
Sun Gazing: Contact between the eyes and sun rays is called sun gazing. Sunrays are both stimulating and curative and their effect on the eyes is very helpful. Sunrays are also considered the best tonic for the eyes.
Our eyes are the windows to the world. Special care of the eyes should be taken. We can do so through eye exercises and through relaxation. Yoga suggests that Tretake (Gazing) is very useful for development of perfect vision and beauty of the eyes.
Tretake:It is the fixation of the eyes that strengthens the nerves of the eyes. It is a purifying process. It can be done as nasal gazing and shoulder gazing.
Sun gazing is done either in the morning at sunrise or in the evening at sunset, when the rays are not strong. Keep eyes wide open but relaxed; now look at the sun for 10 seconds. Increase the duration slowly.
NB: Those with defective vision or weak eyes may start the practice by looking in the direction of the sun instead of looking straight into it.
