Are we confident in our work?

Once the British queen wanted to construct a big building and therefore she invited all famous builders to submit their plans.Many qualified engineers presented their well homeworked plans to the queen including a mason who was not so popular.But the queen was very much impressed with the plan submitted by the mason.So she approved his plan and gave the building work to him.When the building was complete it was remarkable with minimum pillars for the whole structure.All the engineers scared the queen by telling that there were serious defects in the design of the structure and the building would collpase at any time.They further added that the building needed a big pillar in the middle to avoid the collapse and save the building for some years atleast.

The queen started to get some doubts about the strength of the building and hence she asked the mason to raise a big pillar in the middle.The mason had to obey the queen and so he reluctantly constructed a pillar as instructed.

After 150 years the palace people wanted to renovate the building.When they were carrying on the renovation work they were shocked to note that the top tip of the pillar was not at all touching the roof.
Imagine how confident was the mason on his work.Are we so confident in our works?
