Any one can, now, very well experience the changing-trend in the Indians’ Life. Right from rural to metros, it is growing at amazing jet-speed..! The growing unemployment rate, coupled with WTO impact slowly disturbing the entire phenomenon. It is a matter of concern, in the coming years, what will be the fate of Rich Indian Culture & Heritage, if things are allowed to happen likewise ? We have been loudly talking about the socio-cultural environment, in reality, hardly any efforts are on to stop this devil-attitude.

While rest of the World is gradually giving due weightage to the Indian System, our own people are switching-over to the Foreign-Style.

Taking advantage of Mass Media & Commercial gains, some business houses are poised to develop Foreign culture here. With the advent of growing Fashion Shows all-over, our culture is walking towards dead-end. Though Schools are, often, claiming to protect our Indian tradition, in reality, they do organize Fashion Shows – making tempt for modern-wears – thus indirectly boosting the foreign style .at the grass-root-level.!

Under the titles of “MISS” & “MR” Contests “ & through various other celebrations, Business Organisations tend to organize these Mega-Shows – thereby further eroding our traditional life.. Nowadays, if any one comes in ordinary/traditional dress, be it School or College, people see with “ different “ eyes, while some are ready to comment with “nick-names” !!

In fact, it has come to the level that even nursery-goings are more aware about modern-dressing. Whether they remember the lessons taught are not, but surely remember their teacher’s dressing codes !

Not only Fashion shows, be it…Product Launches or Test-Drive, Spot-Demos or Door-to-Door Canvassing, Fairs or Melas… , “ modern-dressing “ play a major role. Internet, Televisions & Print Media are showing greater interest to spread the Foreign-Style in the name of “ Fashion “.

If you want to go for a walk, there you find “ short-dressing “ gals & girls. Go to the Parks, different “temporary” couples are often seen. Think of visiting a temple, there too, you find “struggling” lovers. If you take family out for meal, you can get different “scene “. In case you are tired of all these & decide to go for long-drive, “signals” will show you the “late-night-movies” !

Be it ATMs, Be it Restaurants, Be it Railway Stations or Airports, Be it Cybercafes.. Western-Culture is already on ! Under Free SMS Scheme, some “other-side” jokes are also knocking the city , thus damaging the essence of a Good Life. It is a matter of deep concern that New Generation also encourage gifting “Mobile” to the Children – thus damages to the Society is not quite far !

Adding fuel to fire, even in Big Corporates, “modern” dressing play a very crucial role.

Someone says, “if you are not modern”, you would not get entry in MNCs”. Quite often, “Eye-catching” Dressing play significant roles to get clicked for “Customer-Care-Executives” in the Service Organisations. In the modern-business-world, if any Commercial Manager goes without any opponent-sex for a Business Deal, he is not given due weightage. So, even for evening-drive or business-meetings, “modern-dressing” play a very important role.

While we have been talking of giving greater privilege to women in the society, the changing-life-style, might give rise to many question marks on this account. Growing Beauty Parlours, Late-night DJ centers, Sexy-Lyrics, Fashion-Dressings, New Programmes viz. Free Exchange of Lover’s Messages through Radio / FM Channels & Hot-Blow-ups through print-media are bound to rock the world with Mega-Changes in the Society !

It is, time for us to understand the need for saving our Indian System before it comes to a close in the near future….

RURAL INDIA – THE REAL INDIA

I remember my recent visit to south, which thrown lots of insights into the recent happenings. The unemployed youth gets depressed and fall into the hands of Foreign Agents, who under a contract, send them abroad and in turn, eat huge amount of money. Many youths lost their hard-earnings in this way, while some succeed too..! The lucky ones are, in turn, rewarded with some reasonable gifts in the forms of CTVs or other valuables. Two-Three year contracted people, after return to home, do change their Life style into the Western Style. Cyclers turned to drive Latest model Two-wheelers. Even traditional foods like Idli & Dosas are replaced with French-Fries & Chowmeins. Ordinary Telephones are changed to Mobiles. Old-model Buses are blessed with Ultra-Modern Luxory Coaches & even rural-going-buses are fitted with Colour-Video-Coaches !

Bore-wells do become “ bored-wells “ as no water forthcoming !

Even beggars, now a days, prefer to carry only Mineral Waters !

Agriculture-lands are getting renamed as Business Complex Plots or Lands for Apartments. Some ordinary buildings are quite often named as Singapore House or Dubai House !

“Hardly-seen-customer Banks” are now giving “ Ration-shop “ look .. Yaa.. Terribly crowded with NRIs as they offer various attractive Returns.

Even the social celebrations also come under “ NRI-fever.! “ Traditional Pink-Yellow-colour Wedding changed to Western-style and in most of the Groom’s name ( quite often the Foreign Locations viz. Dubai, Saudi, Singapore, Malaysia if not U.K. ! ) are figuring.

Some Matrimonial Columns do command : “ Matches ONLY for NRIs “ !!!!

Taking advantages of various U.K. software professionals back home, Property Tariffs have shot up. Living Styles getting totally changed. Education Standards are also seen in different style. Even Lots of competition in TVs too for Engineering college Ads.

Graduation under Indian Institutions are taking a back-seat in the status-quo !

With the huge-inflow-of forex into India, some Institutions even reserved certain quota for NRIs – thus they become “ commanding heights “ in the society ! Middle-class & low-class are struggling to get seats for their children.

Various Medical treatments also becoming costly. Ordinary hospitals are, now, in with various latest-instruments. Whether treatments are of international quality or not, the tariffs are more or less matching with foreign-markets. While foreigners prefer to Kerala’s Ayurvedic ones, our people opt for foreign-styled Tele-medicine system !

Airlines “free-bies” offer are slowly off. Tourism Industry are demanding higher rates.

Transport Industry is also undergoing rapid changes. Almost every day, new models are getting launched. Latest-technologies are rocking the telecom sectors with thunderous-features. Even Bus-conductors too are often talking to their “ Maliks “ through Mobile phones.

Adding further woes, the Construction Sector is giving new surprises day by day. Ordinary Two-Room-Set Regime is replaced with Multiple Dupliex ones. Playgrounds have become Tennis-courts & Golf-Courses.

Cine-complexes have become Triplexes. Ordinary show rooms have turned to Modern-Business-Malls.

Even some “ Damaged Vans” are rechristened as “ Mobile Fast Food Corners.. “!

In this process, rural youth are getting benefits – thanks to Modern “Securitas Consultants “. In fact, because of this, persons do not know even how to speak, are getting employed as “ Chowkidars “ with colourful uniforms. Some are lucky to work in Big Corporates, while the others get succeeded to work in the Apartments. The rural people are taken as workers for construction activities – thanks to New Fly-Overs & Modern Commercial Towers..!

This somehow, certainly improved our common man’s life-style, where huts are giving Japanese Looks – Yaa.. Each Hut has Cable TV, Syntex tanks are seen for water-storages, modern “ Mobile-Bathrooms “ are offered by localbodies.

Modern Marketing Mantra of “ Sachete-Era “ do encourage them to go in for quality-products, that too at affordable cost.

Certain Big Corporates do provide them Free Medical Aids, while some offer Free-Packed-Meals.

Some Organisations are in Q, to offer IT-enabled services to improve their standard of living, in tune with the global-changing-scenario.

Shabby-Petrol-Pumps are giving “ Sexy-Look “ with various added-features viz. Billiards, STD Booths, Small-Business-Complexes, Cafeterias, Cybercafes. Though they, of course, offer various foreign-items, be sure to see the “ Date-of-Manufacturing “ !!!!

Quite often, some young-guys are seen around. Don’t think they are illiterates. They are the “salesmen”, never leave you till you sign some “ Credit Card “ Application Forms or till you nod for “ Personal Loan/Home Loan “ Application Forms !

If you reach the traffic signals, there too, you can’t relax. Amidst routine-street-beggars, road-side salesmen will force you to buy some “local-makes” ! So everywhere, Business. Business… Business….So, Business is now growing at a feverish speed !

Though Liberalisation changed the Indian Environment or not, certainly NRIs have changed the Indian’s Life Style to a great extent. Villages are turned to Industrial Estates. Most of the Banks are literally crying to extend Loans to each & every one. Commercial bodies too started hitting the Educational Institutions, where the Schools have become handy to encourage indirect-sales. Various Holiday Home Projects are voluntarily given to the students so that you are bound to purchase certain brands !

At nursery-level, Kellogs edge-over “ Aloo-parottas “ while Indian meals are eaten away by PIZZAs and Burgers ! Tea & Coffees are supplemented with Soups & Shakes !

If you look at the Matrimonial section, more percentage of matches are often seen for “ Divorcees “!

Legal Departments are loaded with mounting violations on all front – mostly as a result of foreign-styles..!

Call-Centre Regime & Night-Shift for Women Employees are often disturbing the Normal Life.

Two-income-groups resulted into increased Day-Boarding-Schools & increased Creches all over.

Greeting-Card-Wishes on the eve of various days viz. Mom’s Day, Father’s Day, Lover’s Day can only help to develop Business for the Print Media & other commercial Establishments, while it does not help us to keep the “daily-spirit” on !

While Foreign-Culture encourages “ Single-Window-Concept “, modern-culture of “late-night-meal at restaurants, various cocktail parties, musical dances, holiday-long-drive, hardly give any time to the New Generation.

Now-a-days, new NRI Business Centres are also getting developed with new Residential Complexes featuring “ under-ground car-parking, swimming pool, crèches, business centers, beauty parlours, fast-food corners & various bathing facilities. Some local places also rechristened as “ NRI CITY “.( though the real-alround-developments are yet to seen ! )

In summary, we are, now, nearing to a situation that “ Anyone without “Mobile” will soon be considered as “ below-poverty-level “ ..!!!

Thus, the Foreign-culture not only “ nurture “ our rich “ Indian Culture “, but also damage our whole Indian System , rather “ Joint-Family-System “ !.

Looking at the pace of growing Foreign-culture amidst entry of various MNCs / Global Giants:
