Political Games against a Woman Police Officer

Every citizen of Indian capital Delhi wanted Kiran Bedi as the new Police Commissioner of Delhi, as they believed the iron lady would definitely succeed in curbing the rising crime graph of the city. But dirty political games often obstructed the way of this highly intelligent woman in the police force.

Unfortunately the dedicated and sincere police officer, India’s first woman IPS officer, has decided to quit the uniform. She (Chief of the Bureau of Police Research and Development at present) applied for voluntary retirement from service saying she needs time for academic interests. But people as well as the journalists know that she has decided to quit due to unfavorable and disgusting political circles.

Great Kiran Bedi, a 1972 batch IPS officer of the UT cadre, emerged as a strong contender for the post of Delhi Police Commissioner held by K K Paul in July 2007. But the Centre overlooked highly decorated police officer to name a junior IPS officer, Yudhvir Singh Dadwal, as the new Police Commissioner of Delhi.

When asked by the journalists if the Magsaysay award winner, known for the reforms she carried out in Tihar Jail and her stint in the United Nations, will continue her social work, she said, “My focus would be protection against crime, social reforms and protection of women.”

The political games of the government often dishearten the sincere citizens. People still hoped that Kiran Bedi might be Police Commissioner of Delhi in near future. But now their hope has shattered to pieces.

Why do most of politicians hate brave and sincere officers is a question that needs and answer?

Oshon, Kiran Bedi is the best Police officer

Be it men or women,I would say she is THE BEST .The iron lady of India.I remember the first time she was transferred way back in late eighties I think, she did her duty only to become a thorn in the rosy lives of politicians.

She did every thing she could do for the civilians and had to pay for it.Politics is above everything it seems.I don't like it.

I am glad U brought up this topic.
Hats off to you and to KIRAN BEDI!

Thanks you Oshon.
Great inspiration for the ladies on the campus.

Keep writing!
Best wishes and good luck!

I know the answer oshon

It is clear that brave and dedicated persons always become headache for these politicians and do not let them play their dirty game that is why these politicians hate them.

I like Kiran Bedi for her honesty. She is a brave and very determined lady. I feel she should not have decided to get retirement. She must fight back. She needs to be diplomatic and try to get support form others.

Good post. Keep writing though provoking article as you always do.

Brave Ladies Need to Unite Vanshika

Kiran Bedi is the first police officer who got people's love and support. But the mafia-politics nexus is too dirty and dangerous for a woman to face. Therefore united fight is the only answer.

Very Sad affair

It is indeed unfortunate for our country. perhaps Kiran Bedi's hard work has not been truly recognized yet. she could have been a greater blessing still. the women of India should feel proud to have her as a role model of hard work, determination and focused life. hats off to Ms. Kiran Bedi.

thank you Oshon for this article.
Woman are not dumb after all,

Keep Writing,

Sapna

We need more such women, Sapna

She has been determined and sincere. Our society need such officers to keep our society safe from criminals. When she was deputy commissioner in Delhi police she was removed because her honesty did not suit mafia as well as criminals.

The world is a tough place for any woman Oshon

A woman is blessed with certain attributes. She has to recognise those and use them well, fight hard and work hard to get to the top and remain there. When it gets too tough some fall by the wayside. That is the truth about it. If a woman is strong enough to handle the stresses and able to fight in the same arena with her head in place thats somebody to reckon with.

Women has to work harder

Only then she is able to progress and face the hurdles. Kiran Bedi was rarely respected by political forces because she has been an honest, sincere, hardworking and a committed police officer. And politicians like those people who can push the ball to their prescribed direction.

Don't women work hard enough ?

I am not referring to socialites, I am referring to the hardworking average woman. Just this minute, I was putting some titles to photographs from my camera, more than what I had to do, I was carried away into what each of those photos meant to me . Each woman and child I saw in those had a heart rendering story to tell, some were told to me by their mere expressions...

Sylvia, Women are much more hard-working and

it is really painful to see when women with committment are sidelined with a gang of evil men. Will you publish a photograph here out of which you took?

Would love to Oshon,

but first I would have to write an appropriate article. I am a bit busy these days with end of year reports and desperately falling short of time.

We are Waiting Sylvia

to see the photographs you took. They must have a touch of art hidden in you.
