Indian Weddings:Story of Unmatched Celebrations

India is a land of celebrations. It is a home of unity among diversity. All the Indians have a firm faith in their own tradition and culture and are very sensible in maintaining them. Indian wedding celebrations are a cluster of different rituals which are performed in many phases with great sense of joy and enthusiasm. These three phases, namely- Pre-Wedding Celebrations, Marriage Day Celebrations and Post Wedding Celebrations, are observed in almost all the religions in India. And not to say, all these three phases witness exemplary customs and rituals and the way they are celebrated is absolutely worth-watching and it is simply praiseworthy.

Before the main day function there are various rituals and customs to be looked after. And it is not the matter of rituals and customs but other areas also, which are taken into account consideration, like what will be the budget of the wedding and depending on the budget and the size of the wedding the other areas are decided like the venue of the wedding, the theme and the decoration. Nowadays if the budget is high then one can easily hire a wedding planner who looks after all the matters related to the wedding affair like the venue, theme or the menu. According to the budget one can decide everything. In the pre wedding ceremony there are rituals like engagement, tilak, sangeet, mehndi and haldi. Then there are areas like choosing the caterer, gift-wraps, party favor, gift for relatives, wedding invitation card, stage shows and function, flower decoration, etc. So according to the various functions on each day everything is decided before the main day function.

You need to be extremely wealthy Manoharv

to celebrate a wedding like you say and I think the money is better spent if it is gifted to the new couple after a simple temple/ religious blessing of the vows. Those marriages will last much longer too.
