7 Steps to Dress up Your Article for Getting More Readers

The first essential for a good article is good content, but if it is poorly dressed you won’t get the desired response. And article must look attractive to help a reader start reading with an interest. In the beginning even a poorly dressed article may get readers for you from your friends and well-wishers. However, main readership is generated by other members, and visitors coming through search engines.

1. Write a Good Headline

Headline is like the face of a beautiful girl. It is the first attraction for everybody. Most people will go to your article only if you give an attractive headline.

2. Make Short Paragraphs

Write in short paragraphs. A writing without paragraphs or long paragraphs repels most of the visitors.

3. Give Sub-headings

Give sub-headings to your paragraphs. It becomes more readable. Wherever necessary write in points using bullets or numbers

4. Small Articles are Good for Blogs

Sometimes it is essential to write a long article to express your views impressively or properly. But long articles are not read on internet until they are really very informative and written in an interesting way. Most of the times 200 to 500 words articles best for a blog. And 1000 words should be the limit (in case you need more words).

5. Grammatical Errors

If an article is full of grammatical errors readers get disinterested and rarely like to read more of your articles. So learn to write correct sentences.

6. Punctuations

Be careful about your punctuations. Use capital, hyphen, comma, semi-colon, full stop, dash or inverted commas at right places. Even wise writers lose readership if their articles are punctuated badly.

7. Avoid unnecessary Links

Many bloggers are fond of giving many links below their articles thinking it will get more money for them. Links carrying a reader to notorious sites or money-minting sites will give you a poor image. Moreover, modern search engines hate such links. One or two good links are enough. You may give links of your other good articles.
