Free energy from nature – Lightning

High cost of crude oil and the increasing demand of electric energy are potential problems in the near future. The same potential problems motivate us to look for alternative source of energy.

Lightning, one of nature’s uncontrolled forces, if can be properly harnessed, it can possibly be an alternative source of energy.

One possible way can be use to harness lightning is by using lightning rod. Lightning rod has been used to control lightning from damaging structures, it serves as path that leads lightning directly to the ground.

The same principles and mechanism of lightning rod can be use to harness the power of lightning but this time a capacitor is added in between the rod and the ground, this capacitor will serve as energy storage.

The energy stored in capacitor can then be transferred to batteries thru properly designed electrical circuits.
