Tourism Blemished..

Goa has always been the most haunted tourist destination, be it Indian or foreign tourist, every one wants to relish this tourist hub. But lately this small state famous for speckles and beautiful beaches and crystalline waters is fast getting blemished for a spate of antisocial activities taking place especially of foreign tourists. The cases of rapes and molestations are fast becoming talk of the day and the day is not far when this beautiful tourist destination will be a dumped one.

Following the incident of gruesome rape and murder of a British national, Scarlet Keeling, a German tourist from Munich on a week long holiday was harassed by puling her swim-suit, while walking on the beach of south Goa.

Well, there have been many instances in the past when a foreign national tourist being harassed at the hands of locals have come up. Particularly the state of affairs of tourism are at the lowest ebb, when we talk about tourism dependent states like Goa, Rajasthan, Kerala and Mumbai and Delhi. Many cases of women tourists being molested have occurred since and many have gone unreported too.

It is a fact that many a tourists are routinely harassed in a myriad ways. Places attracting international tourism particularly with high volumes, must be checked with a greater effort for such uncalled incidents. If this is the show, then what to talk about the treatment meted out to the domestic tourist.
