The Indian Classical Music...(1)

In almost all Indian religious and philosophical scriptures a question has often being asked, “What is that human being seeks to attain after getting everything he wanted to achieve?”

Whatever is visible and achievable through senses, couldn’t in anyway, satisfy human being. He wants to go beyond that satisfaction of the physical world. A desire to go beyond the edge and experience the knowledge and feeling is one of his Dharma-the duty. He’s anxious to break open the barriers. Such anxiety is much visible among the youth and obviously affecting the music too.

This is the re-mix age. The old numbers are being presented with newer tunes and rhythm. The mix-ups and fusions are also happening at classical dance front as well. The new generation always looks for a new fresh and fast thing. Whatever it is fashion or food. We term these as new life style and considered it as an integrated development of culture changes. It’s difficult to say when the Indian classical music system stated but those who have credits of worshiping music as a god and developed it as a professional, have got mention of their names in Rig-Veda. The Richas, the shlokas of Rig Veda’s scriptures were sung in very special styles and patterns. A little mistake in the recitation of those was unpardonable. With these new patterns of singing comes The Sam Veda-of which one name Udgarth emerged as the specialist singer…
