Gandhigiri ya politics?
Rahul Gandhi’s refusal to become the next PM, and his sister Priyanka’s humble visit to her father’s killer are part of a well-orchestrated drama
Media reports projecting Rahul Gandhi as the future prime minister, party big-wigs and ‘chamchas’ supporting this move in chorus, coalition party leaders joining the bandwagon, are all part of a well-orchestrated drama. While, entire country knows it is the Congress President’s writ that runs the country from the back seat.
Projecting Rahul as the future prime minister was a stunt to check how deep the waters are. All denials for the same, and rebuking the leaders for supporting such an idea, only add to the drama.
The democratic process of electing a leader found in advanced western countries is a concept far ahead of times in Indian conditions. It will take ages for such things in India.
Until then people will have to endure dynastic rules successions determined by influential coteries.
Considering the highly respected Nehruji and Indira Gandhi, what Priyanka and Rahul are doing is nothing but to give a good boost for votes. For how long will Rahul continue to do work for the Harijans?
As for Priyanka, if she felt so humble to visit and talk to her father’s killer, why doesn’t she forgive her and set her free?
I am sure that with a powerful mother besides her, she can achieve this deed. Forgetting someone’s crime isn’t enough, unless one forgives.
