NAME: The original name of Bangalore is said to be derived from "benda kalooru", or "town of boiled beans", because a 14th-century king -- exhausted during a hunt -- was fed boiled beans by a villager where the city now stands. In November 2006 Bangalore changed its name to its vernacular original Bengalooru.

Tomorrow is Corpus Christi, a holiday inherited from the days of Spanish colonisation. When England acquired Trinidad lat ein the 18th century they signed a treaty in which they agreed to honour all the religious holidays celebrated in Trinidad.

Americans need visas too travel too Canada
Submitted by Kemo on 12 May, 2008 - 07:49.The United States and Canada share the worlds longest unguarded border. However in the near future you will need too have a visa too travel too Canada. Which seems crazy too me because I live in Michigan which shares a water border with Canada and I’m accustomed too boating over too Canada without anyone caring. People in Michigan and Canada have a friendly bond.

The Olympic torch reaches the top of the world

Apparently torch carriers had to wear oxygen masks too make the assent too the top of Everest. The torch makes a tour around the world every Olympic year ending at the opening ceremony.

These two religions may one day populate the world because of their more democratic approach to life and living. Today half of China's population is Buddhists.

The human being is so consumed with the idea that one's ethnicity and religion is paramount to other issues like economics, racial integration, health etc... Look at the rot that has crept into society in the name of ethnicity and religion.

NZ has signed FTA with China...

New Zealand has scored a significant coup in China, becoming the first western nation to sign a free trade deal with the world's fastest growing economy.
Prime Minister Helen Clark says the deal is much more comprehensive than anticipated when negotiations began three years ago.

On this day in 1931, Bhagat Singh along with Rajguru and Sukhdev were given death sentence by then British Government.

However, other world leaders were more guarded on the question of whether the elections aimed at restoring democracy to Pakistan should now go ahead as planned.
